What to Expect with Botox Injections
Botox tends to get a bad rap. When someone brings up the topic of Botox, it’s often to laugh at over-injected celebrities and people with frozen faces. When working in a clinic that does a lot of Botox injections I noticed that if the injector is good, no one can tell that it has been done! A good injector will never freeze areas that take away your expression or make you look unnatural. If you get a Botox injection and your friends start noticing that you look ‘rested’ and ‘relaxed’, that’s when you know you have found a great injector. If you are looking for a professional Botox Scarborough clinic, look no further.
Tips Before and After a Botox Injection:
- Avoid alcohol and any blood thinners, including pain killers, for a few days before the procedure. They could contribute to bruising.
- Avoid heavy workouts the day of the injection. This can also contribute to bruising. Take the day off!
- Try not to wear heavy makeup to your appointment. It will have to be removed before the injection anyway.
- Immediately after the injection you may be asked to scrunch up your face, frown, and move the muscles for several hours to improve the uptake of the Botox or Xeomin.
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions and discuss your expectations.
- It will take a minimum of 3-5 days to start seeing results after your Botox injection. A good injector will never over-inject and this might mean you will have to come back after two weeks for a small touch up if you’re not completely happy with the result. This is better than walking away looking frozen!
Bottom line is this: If you find a professional injector, no one will know that you’ve had Botox. You will not walk away looking artificial. You will walk away looking refreshed and younger.
