Stretch Mark Removal

Unsightly stretch marks? With just a few easy treatments, watch them fade away and then go out and bare your beautiful skin once again!

What causes stretch marks?

Stretch marks are a form of skin scarring commonly associated with sudden growth spurts during puberty or with rapid weight gain due to pregnancy or body building.  They form when the dermis – the middle layer of the skin that maintains shape and elasticity – is stretched more than it can tolerate. Connective fibers in the skin eventually break, disrupting collagen production and causing scarring.  Both men and women are susceptible to stretch marks, particularly on the thighs, hips, arms, buttocks, abdominal area, and lower back.

Why consider laser treatment of stretch marks?

Unwanted stretch marks can affect many aspects of your daily life, including your clothing choices, intimacy and self-confidence.

Laser stretch mark removal can work on any part of the body, including the stomach, hips, arms, breasts and legs. It can treat new stretch marks or stretch marks that you’ve been living with for years.

Laser stretch mark removal is a non-surgical, non-invasive, and well-tolerated procedure with no down time.  It can improve the appearance of your skin in just a few easy treatments.  In a short amount of time, redness can be reduced, stretch marks diminished and you can be confidently baring your beautiful, rejuvenated skin.

How is laser stretch mark treatment performed?

A specially-designed laser is used to send short pulses of laser energy into the scar tissue which causes it to break down. Simultaneously, the laser stimulates your cells to produce new collagen and elastin, the building blocks of smooth skin. The new collagen and elastin help rebuild your skin and give it the healthy elasticity that it should have.

Together this smooths out the appearance of the skin and reduces discolouration. As you have each treatment the stretch mark will gradually fade away as newer healthier skin replaces it.  On average, four to six treatments are needed to achieve optimal results.  For more information about your expected results or the number of treatments necessary, please book a consultation.
